WATERSHED RESOURCE SPECIALIST - WABASH RIVER ENHANCEMENT CORPORATION WATER SHED PROGRAM

The watershed resource specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing watershed management plans in the Region of the Great Bend and Deer Creek-Sugar Creek watersheds in a manner that is inclusive of all stakeholders. The watershed resource specialist will work closely with the Watershed Program Director and WREC’s Executive Director as well as government agencies, non-profits, and individual citizens in the community to develop and implement on-going planning projects. The specialist will organize and facilitate steering, education and outreach, marketing, and other committee and subcommittee meetings; arrange logistics for public meetings and education and outreach events; prepare draft plan documents, draft implantation plans, press releases, public announcements, and project and grant reports; coordinate volunteers and educational events; promote cost-share and educational programs with individual agricultural and urban landowners; and collect water samples as necessary. ENGINEER CONTROLS OPPORTUNITY - INDIANA AMERICAN WATER

Primary Role:

Responsible for performing and/or assisting in the design, integration, configuration, maintenance, security, and commissioning of process control and monitoring equipment and systems related to water treatment and distribution and wastewaer treatment and collection.
 
Additional responsibilities include, educating company employees on process control systems, ensuring compliance to Comapny process control standards and practices, applying new technologies, and process control system project management as required.
 
Perform quality assurance checks of process control systems as required.
 
Key Accountabilities:
*Collaborate on the design, review, information gathering, inspection, and commissioning/start-up of projects that include process control equipment or systems.
*Review existing control logic and implement programming changes to control treatment and pumping processes in the most efficient manner.
*Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues.
*Perform software upgrades, adding new facilities, replacement of hardware and software.
*Develop and maintain relationship with Process Control vendors to keep current with changes in operational control systems.

Our regional small business is expanding in Indiana and is seeking an individual to effectively oversee the daily operations of our parts supply and equipment testing business. Knowledge of the backflow protection industry with an understanding of backflow valves and testing equipment are helpful, prior knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems. GENERAL FUNCTIONS: The Area Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of water and wastewater facilities that comprise the Fort Wayne Division.  The Area Manager shall direct the staff for the efficient operation of the company to ensure quality customer and community service, employee and regulatory relationships and appropriate shareholder return.  The Area Manager is responsible for growing the customer base and for acquiring additional systems to make company operations more efficient.  The position is one of integrity and appropriate disclosure will be required.

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and experience that will provide background and the level of knowledge in both operational and financial aspects of water utility operations, including at least five years experience in water utility industry or related business and three years management experience.

Job Description:

This Section Chief position oversees the Probabilistic Monitoring Section within the Watershed Assessment and Planning Branch, Office of Water Quality of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. The person in this position reports to the Branch Chief, and is responsible for supervising a staff of nine full-time employees and up to five summer interns as well as for managing all aspects of the Probabilistic Section including implementing the Water Quality Monitoring Strategy, managing field and laboratory assessments of biotic communities (fish and macro-invertebrate), and for planning, organizing and directing other projects in support of the Office of Water Quality and IDEM objectives.

Responsibilities:

The Section Chief supports watershed assessment and restoration activities by providing technical, operational, financial, logistical, and communications support to the Watershed Assessment and Planning Branch. The duties assigned to this position require the employee to operate independently on a day-to-day basis. The scope of decision-making includes tactical decisions affecting the day-to-day operations of the Section including division of labor, workloads, work products and quality, staff training, development, and assessment as well as strategic decisions related to developing the Section via staffing, program development, special initiatives, formulating policy, and developing procedures.

SUPERVISE STAFF applying applicable SPD and agency policies, procedures and protocols.

Preferred Experience:

Knowledge and skill typically acquired through a graduate education in natural, physical, biological, environmental, or ecological science or a Baccalaureate degree in a similar area plus considerable experience in a related field, preferably aquatic biology

Thorough knowledge of water quality monitoring designs and quality assurance protocols

Knowledge of Indiana's water quality standards and biological assessments

Knowledge of laboratory protocols

Solid knowledge of the organization, function and programs of the IDEM and U.S. EPA
