Town of Topeka WWTP has an opening For a Maintenance Technician Qualification is as follows: 1. Possession of a valid Driver’s License and a demonstrated safe driving record. 2. Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or GED and 3 – 5 years’ experience or equivalent training. 3. Working knowledge of vehicles, heavy equipment and the ability to complete related maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment. 4. Ability to repair and replace pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, belt presses and other equipment. 5. Ability to troubleshoot control panels and electrical equipment. 6. Ability to operate a variety of trucks and heavy equipment. 7. Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools. 8. Ability to learn to conduct laboratory duties using lab equipment, balances, meters, etc. 9. Ability to physically perform assigned duties, lifting/carrying objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds, pushing/pulling objects, bending, crouching/kneeling, reaching, standing/walking for long periods of time, and access confined spaces. 10. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to complete required paperwork and read/interpret equipment manuals, gauges and dials. 11. Ability to work extended hours, including 24 hour emergency on call, nights, evening and/or weekends and holidays when required. 12.
